The product characteristics of zinc alloy die-casting are as follows:
1. It has a high specific gravity, is heavier and more textured, and has more strength than plastic injection molding.
2. It has good casting performance and can die-cast complex and thin-walled precision parts with smooth casting surface.
3. It can be surface treated: electroplating, spraying, and painting.
4. It does not absorb iron during melting and die-casting, does not corrode the die, and does not stick to the mold.
5. It has good room temperature mechanical properties and wear resistance.
6. It has a low melting point and melts at 385℃, which is easier to form than aluminum alloy die-casting.
7. Zinc alloy has a strong three-dimensional sense. After die-casting, the surface will have a granular feel or wrinkles, and needs to be polished. Polishing cannot completely change the physical form.
8. Zinc alloy crafts and embossed patterns are vivid and widely used, but they require a high level of craftsmanship and there will be a small amount of indentation or burrs on the surface.
Zinc Die Casting Mold
Choosing the right zinc alloy die-casting mold material is the key to ensuring mold performance and life. According to different application requirements and process conditions, there are a variety of materials to choose from, including GR steel, HQ-33 mold steel, H13 steel, 8407 steel, etc. These materials have their own characteristics and are suitable for different production needs.
GR steel: A high-hardness, non-cracking and heat-resistant mold steel suitable for zinc alloy die-casting molds, widely used in various hot working molds such as press hot forging molds, hot extrusion molds, and die-casting molds.
HQ-33 mold steel: It has good heat resistance and hardness HRC50-54, which is higher than 8407 mold steel. Therefore, the high-temperature strength and mold rigidity are better, the thermal conductivity is high, and the mold heat dissipates quickly, which can improve the life of the die-casting mold.
H13 steel: It has high strength, high hardness and good wear resistance, and is suitable for the production of large-scale and high-demand zinc alloy die-castings.
8407 steel: It has high strength, high hardness and good corrosion resistance, and is suitable for the production of zinc alloy die-castings with higher requirements.
