As a professional manufacturer, we provide both 3D printing and CNC machining to support our customers for product development, while they different on process, precision, materials, and cost etc., so the specific technology needs based on actual needs.
Strength & Durability:
3D Printing is additive manufacturing, parts built layer by layer, CNC machine is subtractive manufacturing, cutting directly from solid material so have better overall strength.
Accuracy & Tolerance:
Usually CNC machine tolerance better than 3D printing, because it cuts the shape from a whole piece material, tolerance usually can reach ±0.02–0.05 mm; 3D printing, with its layer-by-layer stacking, will have cumulative errors, shrinkage, and deformation, usually within ±0.1–0.3 mm.
Material Choose:
CNC machining can use a wider range of materials, including various metals and plastics. While 3D printing materials are also expanding, they remain relatively limited, typically restricted to plastics and some metals. The choice of materials can significantly impact the performance and application of the final product.
Lead Time & Cost:
3D printing faster, CNC machining requires custom knife and setup machine, time longer, cost also higher.
If you are looking for prototype services, machining parts, custom plastic parts, or low-volume manufacturing, our engineering team can advise the most suitable solution according to your project stage.
